Pauline L. (Bowers) Martin

Pauline L. Martin 104, of Bedford, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard.  She was born on November 15, 1919 in Lancaster, SC a daughter of the late Luther and Florence (Threatt) Bowers.  On June 21, 1952 in Bethesda, MD she married Euclid Paul Martin who preceded her in death on June 10, 1980.  She is survived by two children: Sylvia E. Page, of Bedford, and Debra Bruels and husband Glen, of Friday Harbor, WA; six grandchildren: Ryan Bruels and wife Esther Armstrong, Elise Bruels and wife Courtney Schoenpelder, Timothy Page and wife Joyce, Tracy Page and wife Dena, Woodrow Page and wife Barbara, and George Page and wife Jackie; twelve great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and close niece and nephew Gail Post and Howard Patterson.  She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Page; and four siblings: Doris DeGroff, Euphemia Cranshaw, Mildred Snavely, and Roddy Bowers.

Pauline worked in a factory during WWII in New Jersey building hand grenades and bombs for the war effort.  After the war she married her husband, and they moved across the U.S. to his Naval assignments including Gaum, San Diego, and Bethesda.  She was affiliated with the Yeager Lutheran Church.
